About

Debatable Estates is a two person art collective made up of artists and geographers Jorgen Doyle and Hannah Ekin. Our work together deals with the politics and poetics of land use, involving extended periods of research into specific social, environmental, and political contexts. Recent work includes research led exhibitions that combine performative social practice and installation works (201520162018) critical publications (20172018) and a montage documentary (2018). We look to complex urban environments such as Jakarta, Indonesia and Alice Springs, Australia, as sites where new visions and practices of emancipatory politics are needed and possible, working alongside activists, architects and researchers in an effort to produce and support these.
